Vintage Nautical?

I'm getting into this vintage nautical idea. Go simple with the bedding (see my last post: blue pinstripe sheets - maybe get the quilt from PBarn - white dust ruffle - and either the breathable bumper or the sailboat bumper) and then accessorize with some of the following... (By the way, I know I'm a dork and may be spending too much time thinking about all of this stuff. But it's fun and it's a great stress reliever. So don't make fun of me!)

Annoyed with the baby industry...

Ok, so I looked up the cost of the bedding I posted yesterday and $400 for a bumper is just ridiculous. Particularly when they say that bumpers are really unnecessary - just decorative. OY. So I have some new, less expensive thoughts. I could go really basic and buy separates (sheets from Baby Gap, breathable bumper from BabiesRUs - which they say is SIDS safe, and friends have already given us a white dust ruffle), and then accessorize. Or I could go Pottery Barn. Hmmm.... I really like the sail boats from PBarn... But I've heard that PBarn quality is not outstanding...

New thoughts on bedding...

So I've been surfing more and have found a few more options (that I think are better than the original I posted). Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated :) Now I'm thinking about going more simple and decorating with pillows and pictures and stuff. A little less cheezy....

Thoughts on bedding?

Do we like this bedding for Duds? We wouldn't get all of the pieces to go along with it (like the chair, or the diaper dispenser - who needs a diaper dispenser?) And our furniture is lighter. But it gives you a general idea. The second pic down is for a cradle, but you can see it better. It may just be hard to see online. I think it looks better in the store. Feel free to chime in or make suggestions... Check out www.kidsline.com if you want to see what other lines they have from this company. Not that I'm tied to this company...

23 weeks +1 day: Dudley's First Mother's Day

Since Chrissy's been asking for more pics, Daddy Jim took a few more. And they're at night too - after a few big mother's day meals - so you're seeing Duds at his largest yet.
