39 weeks, 6 days and holding!
Hopefully I will go into labor in the next 48 hours, but there's really just no way of knowing. The doctor says I'm 50% effaced and 2-2 1/2 centimeters dilated - which is a good thing, but I could stay this way for another 2 weeks. No matter what, though, she says that she won't let me go past 2 weeks overdue, so this baby is coming soon no matter what! We're just anxious to meet him and see what he looks like (and be inspired to finally choose a name!). We'll be in touch when we have news. In the meantime, here's what I hope is the last belly pic....

37 weeks and 1 day - full term!
Sorry it has taken me so long to post - our hard drive was full, so we had to buy a new one and that took us a little while... In any event, things are going well. I'm now at 37 weeks and one day, which means that I'm full term. In other words, if the baby were born tonight, every thing would be okay - he's fully cooked and is just adding weight at this point (and the doc says he's already 6 or 7 pounds! He's gonna be a big one!). They say full term is 37-42 weeks, and my due date is at 40 weeks. So really, it could be any day now. Yikes! But I'm feeling well - just a little tired and cranky on occasion (though Jim might say it's more often than not... he's such a trooper). I'm also now officially on maternity leave so I'm trying to keep myself occupied during the day. Going from long work days to nothing at all is a big adjustment - not that I'm complaining! But it's forcing me to relax and be a little more creative (see the pics below of the side snap shirts and onesies I have been needlepointing....). Also among the pics below are a few shots from the baby shower, a few of Tante Chrissy with Samson (the Build-a-Bear she made for Duds), a most recent belly shot (taken tonight), a pic of me and Jim on our one-day "babymoon" to Sausalito (taken from the deck at Scoma's restaurant), and updated pics of the baby's room. Jim put up the curtains and shelves, we got a new rug, etc. And, as you can see, the closet is full of clothes! Fortunately, we have a number of really good friends who have little boys who are growing up and they've been extremely generous in sharing what they have :)
Hope everyone is doing well. Looking forward to sharing pics of the little guy with you soon!!!!

Barefoot and 29 1/2 weeks pregnant - and Jim wouldn't have it any other way...
So I was just feeling really big and pregnant, so I figured it was time to post another belly pic - yes, I am now officially showing. And, since I forgot to post it the last time, here's a pic of me in my new favorite chair. There will be plenty of nights rocking Duds to sleep (hopefully) in this one...

Father's Day (and 12 weeks to go...)
So Dudley's room is coming along well - thanks to the hard effort his dad has put into painting and putting furniture together! I think we've settled on the sailboat/nautical theme. We'll see how it works. I'd like to tie a little more white into the room...it's still a work in progress. But we're happy with what we've got so far.
Duds also showed Dad that he's committed to learning all about football with his father's day gift - a Cal onesie, an ND onesie, a DVD called "Baby Irish - Building Tomorrow's ND Fan Today" that will teach him all about ND football (including the fight songs), and a Cal warming hat. So Duds will be fully outfitted as soon as he's born :)

Getting to work on the baby's room...
So I had ants in my pants this weekend to get things moving, and since I don't have the energy I used to have, I put Jim into gear. And what a trooper he was. We've cleaned out cabinets and drawers, filled up our garage with things for Salvation Army, and even started painting the baby's room. The new furniture is in and should be delivered this week! So, although I'm exhausted (and Jim is more exhausted than me), it feels good to have so much done. I'll post some pictures later this week of our progress. In the meantime, we have another thought for bedding. What do you think? (Also, we are continuously accepting recommendations for names, so please let us know if you have any!!!)
